The recent publication on benzodiazepines misuse is very interesting. [1] Puangkot et al. reported that '[a]ll prevalence of use was higher than previously reported, in Thailand, while more than half of the current users had a behavior of misuse'. [1] Some points should be mentioned. First, the reliability of data collection tool should be mentioned. The data on drug usage seem to be a taboo and might be a legal aspect. It is reported that the misuse might copresent with other illegal drug addictions. [2] The report might be disguised. Second, the high rate of use and misuse is not surprising. Since the control of drugs in Thailand is not good, benzodiazepine and other drugs can be easily available as over-the-counter drugs.
